In 2009 we helped to get this free Berlin paper off the ground. Developing a distinct style, a mix between magazine and newspaper layout with a bold look. This did not go unnoticed by the one design festivals we believe the least corrupted of all the festivals there are. The LeadAwards, run by the LeadAcademy, in Hamburg is choosing the printed matters sent in to be judged by its members, not by the designers and media themselves. We’re not even sure if they’d accepted submissions by the designers themselves. However, to cut a long explanation short – Traffic–News–To–Go was awarded in it’s first year of it’s existence. Even Erik Spiekermann was telling us after the jury met the verdict for the paper, that he was impressed with the simplicity and straight forwardness of the design. Thank you Erik, this means a lot to us – you know we had our differences.
The mission statement on the paper then said… What are you planning to do today to make the world a better place or at least make it worthwhile to hang in there a bit longer?
