After its guest appearance at the Frieder Burda Museum at Baden-Baden in the summer of 2006, from November the Marx Collection was once again on show at the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart - Berlin. Next to works by Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol, the new presentation included works by Matthew Barney, Bruce Nauman, Rachel Whiteread, and others. In a cross-section of media - from drawing to painting and film - it introduced numerous crucial positions in art from the 1960s until today, thus demonstrating the diversity of the Marx Collection.
The Marx Collection embraces important groups of works by world-famous artists. Works by Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Anselm Kiefer, and Joseph Beuys form the base of this top-class collection which was presented in varying selections at the Hamburger Bahnhof.
And we had to bring all this together in one mixed media installation.
